Year 6 Kingswood
Kingswood day 4
Another 7am start for the children - which proved hard for most - ready to fill our stomachs with a cooked breakfast and lots of cereals/toasts. From breakfast, the three groups started their daily adventures: jacobs ladder, rock climbing and zip wire! Following this, the children had their lunch (sweet chilli chicken and chips) ready to take on another afternoon of adventures: orienteering, zip wire and low ropes. Before dinner, the children had to tackle their next task of packing their dirty clothes, cleaning their dorms and getting themselves ready ahead of their departure tomorrow. The children then went for some cottage pie dinner ready for their 3km walk up the hill to watch the sun set.
The children are all ready for their morning of adventures and are looking forward to coming home tomorrow!
Kingswood day 3
The day started as usual with a 7am wakeup call and a full breakfast! This time, the children were so tired they had to be woken up. After our breakfast we engaged in activities such as: caving, abseiling, climbing and nightline. After working up an appetite, we ate lunch (a choice of wraps, flatbreads, baguettes and chicken nuggets). From lunch, the children went on a short walk to the local beach - famous for finding the fossil of a Wooly Mammoth - where we spent 3 hours playing, having fun and spending our money in the shop on ice cream and yummy treats! We returned just in time for environmental art and dinner: burger and hotdogs 😁 After filling our stomachs we headed to our evening campfire activity and had lots of fun eating s'mores, drinking hot chocolate and singing songs!
We cannot wait for day 4 😁
Kingswood day 2
Kingswood day 1
We arrived at Kingswood by 2pm after stopping off to have our lunch at Thetford. When we arrived, the children were shown to their dorms and given their first challenge - making their beds! With determination, growing together (and some help from the teachers) the children accomplished their first hurdle 😁.
Following this, they had a site tour and their first activity consisted of: aeroball, bushcraft: fire making and shelter building.
All children enjoyed their first activity and were ready for their dinner of sausages and chips with a cookie for dessert!
After eating their dinner and cleaning their tables, the children went to their final activity - mini olympics. The teachers thought this would wear the children out, however they still had some energy to stay away and chat with their new room mates! They are all looking forward to their fun-packed day full of activities tomorrow 😁
