Every Local Authority in the country has a Local Safeguarding Children Board in place to make sure that children are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted.
In Kent, the Kent Children Safeguarding Board have the responsibility to:
- to co-ordinate what is undertaken by each person or body represented on the KSCB for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the area of the Authority; and
- to ensure the effectiveness of what is undertaken by each person or body for that purpose.
- to challenge partner agencies’ arrangements to safeguard children and to accept challenges to their own agency.
